Concept
The distinctive AM 01 is a kitchen block made of wood panels with curved doors that can be positioned against the wall or free-standing. A surprising contrast appears when the cabinet is opened revealing glossy glass surfaces and stainless steel.

Designer In 1989, the Mendini brothers opened Atelier Mendini in Milan. The Atelier has designed many different types of work in Italy and abroad. These include the Alessi factories; subway stations in Naples; the Olympic pool in Trieste; a tower in Hiroshima, Japan; the Groninger Museum in Holland; a city quarter in Lugano, Switzerland; an office building for the Madsack company in Hanover, Germany; and the high-speed train terminal in Gwangju, South Korea. Alessandro Mendini has received many international awards. One is the 2003 Gold Medal for Italian Architecture at the Triennale di Milano.The Atelier has always been active in the industrial design sector, collaborating with many important companies in Europe and East Asia.Alessandro Mendini
